As part of the recent refurbishment of Buxton Crescent in Derbyshire by our partners Vinci Construction, we were asked to supply and install a powered glass door. Working with the main contractor Vinci, and architects Curious, we offered one of our custom built GL15 frameless glass doors, fitted with a Dorma ED100 low energy automatic operator, safety and activation sensors. The complete doorset was built and tested in our factory, prior to installation on site. As part of the specification, we supplied electrical details to interface with the building's Salto access control system, which will provide automatic opening during daytime hours, and controlled access during evening lock down.
The Buxton Crescent is a Grade I listed building, built for William Cavendish the 5th Duke of Devonshire, from 1780 - 1789. The DoorTechnik GL15 frameless glass door is a tasteful addition to this historic building, adding modern functionality, whilst contrasting harmoniously with the classical stone structure.
