Thresholds

The threshold is designed as an integral part of the AC15 acoustic doorset; either carrying acoustic seals itself or by offering a good surface to seal to, whilst providing a stable surface for lower locking points and aiding in weatherproofing. The threshold must be chosen with care to achieve the best balance between good acoustic performance and ease of access.

The best acoustic performance is provided by our two rebated thresholds, the Reverse Head and the Type YTL, which allow the threshold seals to meet the main frame seals with no gaps, giving true four-sided sealing.

Where a low threshold or no threshold is required for ease of access, automatic drop seals will be fitted to the bottom of the door. Drop seals may be either surface mounted or concealed within the door bottom.
