We were recently commissioned to design and manufacture a series of doors for a local dental surgery. As part of the refurbishment, we were asked to provide new glass doors for the main entrance and lobby areas, fire rated glass doors for the surgery rooms, administration and staff areas, as well as stainless steel balustrades for the stairs and landing.
The external entrance door is a powder coated SG20 glass doorset with side screen and transom panel. The entrance lobby is formed with our GL15 frameless glass door system.
Nearly all of the doors needed opaque glazing to allow for privacy, yet ensuring the rooms looked modern and full of light. For this, we sourced glass from Schott which had a diffused white interlayer, and still met the fire certification.
The staff room door is an SG20 within a large fire rated glazed screen measuring 3.5m wide. Due to the large size and limited stair access, this screen was made in three sections, which were assembled in-situ. An SG20 glass door for the secure administration area was fitted with electric strikes linked to the access control system.
